Default Any suggestions for an OC?

Can I even overclock this? I read that I'd have to bridge the L1 gaps on the processor or something.

Any suggestions for overclocking this with a stock air-cooler?

Yes you can OC it, but the old Palimino cores don't get to far (They run hot compared to the later T-Bred B cores)

The stock cooler will not have much headroom, you might squeeze another 50MHZ or so from it.

You are right about the bridges needing to be connected to change the multiplier, they have kits for that, or you can use the "Wire Trick"

Kit is discontinued here, but it may be available elsewhere, realy all you need is a conductive paint pen

You can still raise the FSB and OC that way without any mods.

The motherboard you use will have alot to do with how well it Overclocks the FSB, a non performance board will not do well, they normally don't allow for voltage increase to critical items such as the CPU, memory and NB chipset.

Since you didn't mention what board you have, the only suggestion I have is to start raising the FSB 2MHZ at a time till it becomes unstable, then back it off a notch or two.

Thank you so much. That was very "Solid" Necro. Definitely appreciate the help.

Didn't think I could get that much out of it but I've been itching to at least try something with this setup. I guess I wanted my turn to "play" a little bit at OCing and use some of my new found knowledge.

well I got a bump of about 75MHz

Did a RAM change to 2,2,2,6 and bumped the FSB, like you said, to 140 after 140 it would post but windows said no go.

Here's the CPU-Z verification:

After:

I might try the "wire trick" you referenced, but as you said, my stock cooling may not let me do that.

BTW I have an Asus A7V266-E if that helps you lend any other assistance. I would definitely appreciate anything else you may have to offer.
