ok. i have an amd athlon64 3500, 939, on a msi neo 2 platnium edition. i have a gig of ram, 3200 kingston, and i cant overclock this thing at all. it locks up if i move my fsb to just 202. ive tried doing 1t memory timings, upping the voltage on the cpu, and wham---locks up when i touch the fsb. its not a heat issue, i have the fx-55 heatsink, and it runs quite cool. maybe need better ram?

Really off topic here, but where did you get the FX-55 cooler? Can you buy them alone? Or just happend to get one trading and whatnot.

Sounds to me like a voltage problem man.. Have you tried to bump the Vcore or anything ?

What is your HTT setting at?

Try x4 instead of x5...

My friend "theups" has that same motherboard, with a 3200+ winchester. He had the same problem as well.

He turned down the HTT and it worked fine. 230fsb easy.. with the stock 3200+ cooler.

Maybe he could give you some tips.

What I missed in your system specs was what type of powersupply do you have. Seems to me like a PSU issue with either a ****ty voltage or not enough amps on the 12V rail. Please post what the PSU you have is.

Did you try using some memory dividers?

That will help determine if it is a RAM issue..

Those timings are very loose, so I think it may be a RAM issue. Also, computers don't work well when encased in Pink.

Change the LDT ratio from 5 to 4.

You want to keep the HTT speed under 1000.

Stock is 200FSB x5 LDT=1000, so when you raise the FSB, it may cause instabilty.

4x should be fine for up to 250FSB (4x250=100), and 3 will cover you up to 300FSB (3x300=900) if you get new RAM.
