ya anyways im gonna be going home soon and we'll see if the overclock has stayed! and if it has then i'll up the AGP voltage and he DIMM voltage!

I don't think upping the AGP voltage will help you overclock your processor.

Actually it does for the overal system... If you don't up the voltage to the AGP buss, the signal going through the buss will be not be readable becuse of the speed at which it is coming into the buss from say the FSB is too fast and will get degraded if you don't pump up its volume (voltage) to where it can be clearly readable by your video card. Otherwise you will get a video card error when trying to boot the PC when you get your OC to a certain level.

I am a preety firm believer in NOT upping voltages until I know they need to be upped.

Look, if your overclock is already up, running, and stable, then upping the VCore is only going to hurt you and kill your proc a littlwe bit faster. Overclocking is already a risk, so why ask for more trouble then you need to. That being said, if you push for more speed and need the voltage, it's your game. I just don't see the reason for upping it if there is no need yet.

As for the AGP Voltage, well, same thing, don't mess with it till you need too. Otherwise, when you try and push that OC a little farther later on, you might have a hard time figuring out what is failing and why.

You take things in baby steps, and only give it what it needs, and remember what you have done, (write it down), and you will be successful.

If you jump around and yank on it, yer' just gona break it

No offense, but that's not that good. You should be able to atleast run the FSB at 400Mhz. That seems to be the minimum for locked 2500+'s.

Yes that seems to be common, but his memory might not be up for it, I believe it's only PC2100.

Also, we did a little checking with CBID and it appears to be unlocked, I think he tried a lower multiplier and it booted.

Yes, but I don't think Stereo is quite ready for that yet, it took me months of explaining just to get him this far, I don't wanna confuse him even more at this point, He still has room to go with the PC2100

Agreed, It takes a bit longer (ok a lot longer) but that's how you really learn the craft of overclocking...

For me I didn't touch the AGP voltage until all the sudden I went to boot up and I got a blank screen and the beep code for "you video aint working" ...
