| Ok, got my new board and a few new sticks of RAM and ready to OC the hell out of this thing. I don't know much about the BIOS system implemented in the DFI Lanparty, so I'm starting like a fresh n00b once again. My current system is as follows: DFI Lanparty UT nF3 250 AMD Athlon 64-bit 3400+ 2x 1GB OCZ DDR PC-3200 120GB SATA HDD 160GB SATA HDD 200GB SATA HDD PC3-720BK Koolance Case w/ Watercooling MSI Radeon X-800 Pro Lite On 16x Dual Layer DVD +/- RW Lite On 8x Dual Layer DVD +/- RW Any and all help will be GREATLY appreciated. Please see attachment below for current settings. Necro, you're the OC god.. PLEASE HELP ME (I won't turn down any one else's help just have seen Necro's OC help before). | ||

| Well..you have good hardware, I dont see any reason you should not be able to run at least 10x250FSB (2.5GHZ) One thing, above 240FSB if you have a SATA HD, you need to use channel 3 or 4, channel 1 and 2 will crap out. These were my final settings 280FSBx9=2520MHZ CPU Voltage 1.75v Memory Voltage 2.90v North Bridge voltage 1.7v LDT 3 (280x3=840 HTT speed) Memory timings (2T) CAS 3-4-4-10 Try this starting at your current max 220FSB and work up, dont forget to set the multiplier to 10 250FSBx10=2500MHZ CPU Voltage 1.70v ***(CPU VID to 1.55, and Vid Special to 104% I believe) Memory Voltage 2.90v North Bridge voltage 1.7v LDT 4 (250x4=840 HTT speed) Memory timings (1T) CAS 3-4-4-10 ***CPU VID is for CPU Voltage, this is the place to raise CPU Voltage in the Bios! You also might want to read a few threads over here, they may help you figure out whats goin on. http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=7 | ||

Umm.. if you want to get over 240FSB, you will need to give up one of them I'm afraid, unless you get another add on SATA controler (For the PCI slot) Here is a one for 31$ with 4 channels, they have 2 channel versions for $17 that would save a few bucks since you realy only need 1 extra channel http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...124-020&depa=0 One of the minor drawbacks of this board, not many Overclockers run 250-300FSB with more than 2HD's very often on AMD, you are the first I know of here. You can use an IDE HD above 240FSB if that helps any... You haven't even hit the 240FSB limit with the 11x multiplier, you only made it to 220, so you have room to go Instead of running 10x multiplier as I first suggested, you could run 11x 230 ~11x240 , and avoid hitting that wall..and dont forget to bump the voltages and make the other changes to the LDT mentioned in my guide. LDT defaults to 5, it needs to be at 4...that stops more people than any other setting when it comes to overclocking AMD 64's past 210-220FSB. | Get the manual out and find the CMOS jumper and reset for 15 seconds. It's located next to the CMOS battery, should be blue. This will get you back into the Bios, but you will have lost all your other settings. Let me think about this for a minute, I'll add more in a bit EDIT: Ok..This time, just leave the multiplier at 11 like I had suggested as an alternative after I knew you were trying to use 3 SATA HD's Set LDT at 4, and FSB at 220, then 11x230. Did you make any other changes to the memory timings or voltages? Please list what you have changed...you aren't gonna get far unless you do ![]() Last edited by $SOLID$ Necro; 25-February-05 at 04:52 AM.. | ||

| I'm operating in the dark atm. Wife is asleep and don't want to wake her by pulling the tower out of the desk (tight quarters). Will work on it more tomorrow. Thanks for your help on this Necro... eventually I'll get the hang of this and won't have to bother you any more ![]() Well, I'm at least back up and running. Will have to do a bit of tweaking to my system later today and tomorrow. I think I'm going to transfer Windows over to my middle-sized drive and cut the smaller drive out of the system completely. It has a tendancy to crash anyways so it will be for the better. Last edited by ariesjj; 26-February-05 at 10:18 AM.. | ||
