| aight i have been messin round with the bios tonight as there is squat to do here in this town, so. i have my fsb at 240, the multi is at ten naturaly. the cpu v is only upped byut a percentage in my bios, such as 3.3, 5, 6.6 so on, i have it set at 1.52v, the cpu is at 34 c with a zalman CNPS7000B-ALCU runnin on full. i finaly got my ram up to 200 mhz, but when my bios posts it says 333 so imma email msi bou that, butnewho. so wat do u guys think so far, its a winnie, so im thinkin i should be able to ge tlike 2.6-8 possibly. neideas on how to get her stable enuf for that, i also have my pci lock disable off, & the agp set at 66, i can choose 75.4 also, which is better? | ||

| Not bad, but please do us a favor though? Use some paragraphs, it's very hard to decipher your post.. post it like a Pimp little Bro I don't think anything is wrong with your board, prolly need to to learn a bit more about the bios to get it to do what you want. Try posting CPUZ picks like this so we know what we are dealing with, alot of info is contained in there ![]() Last edited by $SOLID$ Necro; 11-February-05 at 03:07 AM.. | ||

| Yea I agree with Necro. Learn a little more about the bios. Upping the voltage to the cpu core and the memory will allow you to get more stable with a higher fsb. **Warning** Upping you voltage will raise the temp so watch out. I would leave AGP at its default setting of 66 and turn the pci lock on. With the agp and pci at their default speeds you will not have to worry about pci or agp cards not working due to the higher fsb. | ||

| i was playin sum video games for like 3 hrs the other night, as there was nothing to do, & my computer can handle them now, lol. newho, so i was playin hl2, which just set its self up on max settings, & my monitor shut off, well the signal to it quit, so i restarted & tried it again, after a while it did it again turned the res down & it works fine, then unreal tourney 2004 plays fine til i max out settings & then it plays, then after a while the signal quits again & the monitor goes into standby. im still thinkin a need a new psu, thinkin bout an enermax noisetaker, sumptin like 18-20 amps on the 12v+ line, neideas on wat amperage the a 9800 pro modded to a hercules 3d prophet pulls. i know this kinda seems to me like avid crd post, but if i clock back to 2.2 its even more stable, dunno where the prob is this is a screen of the proggie that came with my msi mobo, to monitor stuff, it shows a lil more tha cpuz- in sum things so if nebody know about this, id be greatly appreciated for ne help Last edited by couchlock; 14-February-05 at 01:35 AM.. | ||

| Ok..I had avery hard time deciphering that post, but it sounds like it craps out after a few hours playing I had a 400 watt generic power supply that did the same thing, even at stock speeds, its not so much the power rating, but whats inside and how it handles the electricity that comes out. Cheap ones have spikes or "Noise" wich only gets worse and more pronounced under a heavy load such as gaming. After 3 hours, it just couldn't handle the heat and strain...then u get a pretty "BSOD" Expensive power supplies are expensive for a reason, just pick up a good one, they are realy heavy due to the massive heat sinks they use, and top notch hardware is used throughout. Compare that to a cheap one..it will feel light as a feather I have a 300 watt Antec Smart Power, and it's stable as a rock with a XP 2500+ and a X-800 Pro. It does hold the max overclock to around 2.4GHZ though, compared to the 2.6+ it runs when I put my Antec 550 watt in there. Il take a good brand 350 watt over a no name 500 watt any day! Antec is my favorite (Very reliable and a long established brand) I would realy like to give the new Neo Power 480 watt a try (126$) Output: +3.3V@30A, +5V@38A, +12V1@18A, +12V2@15A, -12V@1A, +5VSB@2A It has dual 12v rails for a combined 33 Amps http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...103-924&depa=0 If you are on a budget, Fortran is another well respected name, here is a 500 watt with Dual 12v rails also (90$) Output: +3.3V@30A, +5V@28A, +12V1@15A, +12V2@15A, -12V@0.5A, +5Vsb@2.0A http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...104-934&depa=0 | ||

| yes, this is my old power supply, bought within... 8 months id say for an old computer that got parted out as i moved & didnt need another desktop. so. i intended to get a new one sooner or later, lol, guess its sooner, which is fine, but i wasnt lookin to spend over hundred for a psu, but i might tho. im super interested in noise control, lol, most deffinately newho, thanks for all the help so far guys, very helpful, im liking it here, great place ![]() edit : also im locked on my pci & agp Last edited by couchlock; 14-February-05 at 01:16 AM..
