locked 2600 wall

ok my amd 2600 barton and I have hit a 190 fsb wall wich is 11.5x 190= 2.18 ghz, ive raised voltages, loosened timings, ive got an nf-7 and some ocz performance ram at stock timing is 2-3-3-6 i can hit 2.3 but is way to unstable to do anything i had the cpu voltages up 1.85 and it still wont stay stable at anything more than 2.18 and temps are fine at 2.18 i get idle tems at 35 C and load temp of 39 C, any suggestions ohh and once i get above 190 the mobo sets the cpu-ram to 1:1 it seems like its unstable there

hmm you aren't the only PIMP to have a locked CPU, i have a 2500+ locked on my EPOX 8rda3+ mobo and im hitting a fsb of 166 on my cpu so i know how yah feel, you could alwasy try searching google for

"unlocking a 2600+ CPU" you should be able to get a few good hits and such!

NOTE it my require some fine wire and some soldering! on the back of the Mobo!

actullay frozen cpu has something they say will unlock it, it says if your proc. starts out with axda then it will work, i might have to pick one of those up, has anyone tried those unlocking kits?

The unlocking kit Will not unlock a barton bro.. There is nothing you can do.. you should be able to pull like 2.4 227Ext clock is usally the Nf7-S max at the most with a locked barton 2500+ on a Nf7 before the board needs Vmods..

ohh that kit wont unlock it.......cheesey it said if it starts with axda it willl but if you say different ill take your word, i would hate to waste my money on something that doesnt work, i just cant get it past 2.2 i dont know ill try some stuff see if i cant get it to go past that mark

With my NF7-S I couldnt get 2.2 on my locked 2500+ I traded it for my u2400+ that im currently using. 2400MHz

D.O.A., I have an unlocked barton core 2600 and I still can't get it to run past 2200mhz. I just don't think they are good chips to overclock. I can get mine up to 200fsb but I have to drop the multiplier to 11 to do it. I have run multipliers as high as 13 but the chip won't work unless you underclock the fsb to keep everything under 2200mhz. I found it really fustrating.

The barton cores are "superlocked" Can't unlock em bro. Check out my locked Duron @ 12x195

. I wouldn't mind having a locked 2500+, wanna trade?

I have had my XP2600 Superlocked Barton at a stable 2.3ghz on the system in my sig, sotck Corsair XL 2-2-2-5 RAM timings. Can't remember the multi anbd FSB but I know it works out to exactly 2300mhz. Chipset is NF2. Anything over 2.3 is not stable. VCore is 1.85 but BIOS reads 1.9

man that sucks arse is there anyplace that still sell unlocked cpu's i guess i could brake down and get a mobile, seems like the only choice...oh do you think my 350w power supply is stopping me, im using every available connector on it, ive heard of psu's stopping people from getiing very far

Yes, a weak power supply or generic POS can hold you back, especially if you are using everything.

My mobile ran to 2.4ghz on a 300 watt Antec, put my 550 watt Antec back in, and my Mobile went right back to running at 2.6ghz+

No..that is for old motherboards that can's change multipliers, an NFORCE 2 chipset can do the same thing without having to mess around now.

There is a way to unlock new locked XP's, I wrote a thread on it, but no one here has ever had the balls to try it
