Default suggestions for my overclock needed

I have a socket A abit nf7-s mobo with an athlon 2500+m
The question I have is am I better off running it at:
1) 255*10 with the timings on the ram at 3-3-3-5

or

2) 220*12 with the timings on the ram at 2-2-2-5

both of these have been tested and work....thing is i'm not sure about the loose settings on the ram at 255....I know fsb is good but not at the expense of the timings. What do you guys think?

hmm..i would say 220x12 just for bragging rights..but you'll more than likely get more performance out of the higher fsb speed or the 250x10. at least with memory and such. but the tigh timings in the 220x12 is good too...so either one sounds and looks good.

best way to know, run some benchmarks like pcmark or 3dmark or even some of the benchmarks that come with games and see which one yields better results, and use that one

Get Sisoft Sandra, run benchies at each setting and compare the results. The FSB/timings with best results wins.

My experiences so far show that High FSB wins out, 200x13 with 2-3-3-6 is slower than 260x10 on my M-XP2500+ and Geil PC4400 at 3-4-4-8

I having tested everything in between, and 10x260 is good, but it is only 2.6GHZ, and not near the top of my max CPU speed... It can reach 3.8+GB/s on Sandra memoryat those settings though .

The top speed of this CPU for benchmarking is 2.7GHZ, but I have found in general, the sweet spot seems to be around 255x10.5 and 2.5-4-4-8, coming in at 2.68GHZ..it just cant pull all the way to 260x10.5 without doin some mods.

The DFI Lan Party rev. B runs out of CPU voltage at 2.0 unfortunately (My old Abit NF-7 went to like 2.2v stock if I remember) that is the one minor drawback of this board when it's dead stock... I may change that down the road

For daily use I leave it at 250x10 with around 1.8v, and memory in "Turbo Mode" (2.5-4-4-9) with the SP-97/80MM Tornado on low speed.

I would realy like to try some good BH-5 or TCCD in the old rig, I bet I could break 4GB/s then

I dream of 250x10...mabey with this 92mm deal I got going I can get a stable 200x12...

I would go for the HIGH FSB. I've been running on my 2600M 13x200 timings @ 2.5-3-3-11 for the longest time! The other day i decided to change up a little bit. 12x220. timings @ 2.5-4-4-11. It smokes the old way by far.. Im alot happier now.. When i get my new ram this week will see how high this FSB will go before needing Vmods.
