As far as I know, I don't think there's a way to measure the heat of your memory besides putting a thermal probe right against the ram. However, if your computer locks up, it could be a conflict with your ram's timings or your CPU overheating.

The other pimps will give you some more info.

If you are careful, just feel it gently with your finger, while running a memory intensive application.

I recommend Memtest86, burnt as a bootable cd. Test your memory while overclocked, you will see how stable it is.

You can actually feel the RAM heat up.

Umm ...why not mod up a fan near the ram??? one 80 mm should do just fine, or make a blow hole that blows right on your ram?? all yah need is 2 face plates for optical drives if you have 2 spots there?!

So if I overclock slowly and check stablity I dont have to worry about the memory just burning out right

Pretty much. That's a good rule of thumb when overclocking anything.

I ran a stress test and my pc locked up.
The only thing I can change on my mb is the fsb
and not the mutiplier so I guss I should buy ram sinks
or better memory in the future

Did you even try adjusting the voltage on ram? Or adjusting the timings?

I barly pushed the cpu 0.9 ghz and the fsb from 201 to 211 so I didnt think that would be the problem
I have a GA-K8NF-9 nForce4 board

If you really want to be safe, always clamp on the copper ramsinks. You can get them very cheaply. What memory are you using btw?

I keep my ram cool by using pure copper thermaltake heat sinks. They work pretty good. You can alo find them in many different colors.

If the system is solid..there will be no use for ram sinks.
