I'm currently using that DFI mobo on a Newcastle 3200 (2.2ghz spec). I've been able to run reasonably stable (i.e. HL2, Far Cry and MOHAA don't usually crash the PC when I've been playing for an hour or two ) at 2504mhz with not too much effort - but I've never been able to get any faster than that. Not sure if it's RAM, chip, MOBO, or any combo of the three that's stopping me there, but anyway for the money spent I think you'd be doing just fine and have a Kick-a$$ rig. I'd be really interested in hearing how far you can OC that set-up if you do get it. In general the mobo has been really well behaved and I've had no issues. Good luck

| I'd grab the 939 DFI Lan Party that is coming out at the end of the month, along with a 3000+ or 3200+ (90NM versions overclock the best) If you don't wanna wait, then that is the best 754 board on the market, capable of over 300FSB (600DDR) I have both Athlon 64 and XP versions now, and both run crazy FSB speeds with the right memory, I plan on grabbing the 939 SLI version soon... DFI has realy gotten there act together in the last few years ![]() | ||

UGH! Not that MSI is bad (If you your plans are just for a mild OC) But... if you want some serious Overclocking, get the DFI ![]()

| well i was shooting for 2.4-2.5ghz and maybe just tweak a lil more to see what it can do...i see alot of people doing good with the MSI boards...but ALOT more now that are complaining about things that go wrong... I've been reading through some other forums..and now i'm not sure if the MSI is good or not...and i don't know of any good Nforce s939 boards..since i've used VIA s754 lol...but if the DFI board is coming out at the end of the month..then i should have it made..since the end of the month is only a few days away right? and the DFI s939 are PCI-E only...i don't want to spend another 400-800 for new cards and such....just plain AGP will work for me till a major upgrade in a few years.
