AMD Alchemy Au1200 Processor Showcased

AMDs ultra mobile/media playback processor was launched yesturday. The ultra low power consumption (<400mW at 400MHz typical performance) means that any number of devices can take hold of this latest introduction to the series from AMD.

At first look Id say it looks like one of AMDs alchemy flash chips..will post when I find out some more info..

Its out of a Tungsten T2 I took apart, that might help your searchings. Sorry for the thread jack

well, the chip behind that is the Texus Inst. CPU for the Tungsten T2, im still holding on the FLASH chip. AMD do make bridges etc but havent heard of anything for mobile devices on a controller chip scale.

whats the MHZ or GHZ for that device that they have in the works? i wonder if it will be OC'able!

I was looking into a nice PDA with a 300MHz processor before, but I couldn't bring myself to it, maybe i'll consider again when these tiny CPU's start reaching 1GHz or more. As far as this news goes, i'm, glad to see AMD seriously entering the micro-CPU market. -Hopefully they will set new standards for Intel's etc.
