Go into your BIOS and change the multiplier. If it's changed, then your chip is unlocked.

It's unlocked, nothing made in 2001 was

NForce 2 motherboards will unlock the Multipliers, if your board is as old as the CPU, you will have to do the conductive paint pen on the L-12 bridges trick to change it then

I seriously doubt it is a superlocked chip.

If you are using a Nforce 2 board, you should be golden.

If not you will have to do the pencil trick to unlock it.

We posted within secs of each other. When I started typing he had not replied yet and it wasn't worth editing to remove it.

I mentioned a Conductive Paint Pen trick, not a Pencil trick

The pencil trick worked on older AMD CPU's but not on yours.

http://www.aoaforums.com/forum/showt...=&threadid=423

You have to cut the bridges and fill them in with conductive paint.

It goes something like this, you will have to track down more specifics for your EXACT CPU and Soyo motherboard, there are many methods, here are a few.

http://technobabble.com.au/technobab.../amdbarton.htm

The "Wire trick" sometimes called a "Pin Mod" might also work and is a bit easier and cheaper.

http://www.ocinside.de/go_e.html?/ht...md_pinmod.html

Or...you could just upgrade to a NF-7 for around 75$ or Shuttle AN35 Ultra for about 60$ and be done with it

EDIT: LMAO..with all these "Tricks" going on in this thread, we're gonna need some more Hoes'

"CPU core voltage and FSB multiplier can be adjusted via BIOS setup"

I always used super clue to fill in the laser etches then used rear window defogger pait repair kits to contact the dots..works like a charm and dries super fast...will be dry by time you paint and stick in board
