A64 3400+ sux for OC me thinks

i can't pass 50 mHz lol. im usin stock cooling and

multi= 12

HTT =204

i cant even get the HTT to 206 w/o my benchmark programs freezing and screwin up

is there any way i can get this hiigher?

Are you changing your ram timmings/dividers along with the bus and whatnot?

Ok..

CPU = 2400+(2000GHz), mine is at 2300MHz(vcore 1.93) thats 200(Bus)MHz x 11.5(multi) take that 200(bus)MHz and times it by 2, giving you 400MHz, thats the speed of my ram(PC 3200 400MHz) so my divided ratio from mt BUS to RAM is 1:1(which is the best). Then some crap about ram timmings, mine are 2.5,6,6,8 or something...

I dont know anything about the voltages for those specs, so ask the 64 owners here

Well, first, what kind of RAM and motherboard do you have? Some motherboards OC easier, and generic ram can sometimes not OC at all..
Also, stock cooling won't cut it *AT ALL*.
I bet you're running 55Ã‚Â°C+ with the CPU running stock with the stock cooler..

athlon 64 3400+
asus K8n-e deluxe mobo
1024 MB of PC 3200 Mushkin
ATI Radeon 9800 pro 256 MB

On that note, what kind of Mushkin?

Mushkin ram should OC some, no matter what kind it is.. I bet if you got rid of the stock cooler it'd OC more.

If that is an early model Clawhammer 3400+ it wil have 1MB cache and run 2.2GHZ stock...so 2.4GHZ would be overclocking it.

I'm sure that is not the case, you probably have the Newcastle verion wich has 512k cache and runs at 2.4GHZ...both CPU's are rated as 3400+'s

Most Newcastles will max out around 2.6GHZ with air cooling, but you are not gonna get that far with a stock cooler....time for an upgrade.
