An AMD 64 socket 754 3400+DTR..Desk Top Replacement (For Laptops) They don't have a heat spreader, use lower voltage, and tend to be a cream of the crop core....they are supposed to be realy good Overclockers compared to a regular desktop 3400+. They also have 1MB cache and are based on the older ClawHammer core, the newer regular NewCastle 3400+ currently in production that uses only 512k, (1MB is better for gaming and benchmark scores )Bad to the "Bone" there Zenn..givin me da "Chillz'! If that's her first "test' run on the old dyno, can't wait till ya get her all tweeked in ![]() Last edited by $SOLID$ Necro; 18-December-04 at 12:48 AM..

Yup yup... shes laying on the bench waiting for this BIOS to soak in a bit, 24 different setting options with atleast 4choices each?. And that's on the RAM timmings alone. After you select ram timmings there are a dozen settings just to set up the cpu and Hyper transport. MuHahaha 100's of tweekable options Looks like I got my brain occupied for a while... ![]()

| Direct Cool Hoe | I have a lucky knack for picking out CPU's... I look at the steppings and study what has been known to OC well If Newegg is shipping the right steppings I try to get my CPU's there. ExcalibePC.com has always listed and gaurenteed what they list. They don't always have the selection or what you may be trying to get , but what they send is what you ordered. Their prices are with-in 2-3 bux of the Eggs. well on straight H20 cooling no tricks and my "other than TCCD chipped" BH-5 I managed to eek out these OC's ![]() | |

| Wow..thats alot of voltage to the CPU there Bro! and somehow I know your not gonna stop there! Those 3 volt rails look a bit low, is that the PC Power Cooling P/S? I know software is not to reliable...could be the stock bios too. Try the Bios I sent you, it should allow you to disable Thermal Throttling, the stock one won't boot with it enabled. Don't forget to put your Sata drive on chanel 3 or 4, 1 and 2 crap out above 240FSB You can leave it in Auto, but I have had a bit more luck sometimes setting the LDT/FSB multiplier to 5 for 200FSB, 4 for 225FSB, 3 for for 300FSB, and 2 for 400FSB You dont want the HTT speed much above 1000 for stability, and the performance hit is negligable if it his kept at 800 or so. I have a link to the settings Oscar Wu reccomends for TCCD at 300FSB..the one that helped me most was the DRAM Drive Strength (Try 1 or 2) seemed to get rid of some flakiness I was getting at high memory speeds...might help your BH-5 too! http://xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43534 Here is a thread on how to use the Athlon 64 tweeker, it's gonna be your new best buddy, and the second Bios I sent you (Haven't tried it though) has Mem Test built in..no need to boot up to try new settings now http://xtremesystems.org/forums/show...5&page=3&pp=25 Last edited by $SOLID$ Necro; 18-December-04 at 04:25 AM.. | ||

| Direct Cool Hoe | I'm using jess1313 9/14 BIOS it allows you to disable CPU throttling, a must if ya wanna OC. I got my LDT/FSB set at 3.0, and my SATA boot drive is on channel 1, sh!t, hmmmmmm gotta change that This BIOS only has level1 or 2 Dram Drive strength Well for the first time out with this tweekers dream of a BIOS, suicide never crossed my mind once. homicide, yes! ![]() A bit more time and a Chill pill or two and it will ROCK!! ![]() | |

Thankx Jess, I've only just begun, this is known as Burn-in, High voltage, decent OC, and 24/7 pounding of the slicon. I'll know alot more about all these settings by time the ASv is cured...

| I think you just mentioned it but I was skim reading (besides the OC screens) and with nForce 3 use SATA 3 & 4 (normall) or a better way of knowing the right ones, use the 2 SATA ports next to the AGP slot (on EPoX they are the ones closest to the AGP slot). Sexy looking DFI board though. is that direct die cooled yet? | ||

| NIce!! I will be playing with mine tonight. But I only have the regular 3400 clawhammer..... One thing I noticed was you are using sata ports 1 & 2, The DFI boys recommend using sata ports 3 & 4 for anything over 240 on the mem speed.... I will be heading over to DFI-street and chattin it up with RGone to get some inside infor for uberclocking this platform... | ||
