Default unlocking cpu 2000+ athlon

i just bought a unlocking kit from bigfootcomputers.com and i tried to do it on my processor and it just doesnt work.
in all the examples it shows their to be a valley that is cut out where on my chip thier is not. so im thinkin that my cpu isnt locked but i cant change my multplier.
any ideas of what i can do???

If it is unlocked your nForce 2 mobo should have no problem with the multiplier.
Either it is indeed locked, or you should try reinstalling your chipset drivers.

It may, if your CPU is unlocked. It won't if it is locked.

Edit: Have you recently reinstalled Windows?

Unless you have an old version of the 2000+ it is locked. They started doing that around the middle/end of last year, if you bought it recently from New Egg..forget it.

Get the stepping codes from the chip itself (You have to remove the HSF and write down the numbers) or you might be able to find out more about it with CPUZ, post a pic of it here.

You can't unlock it. It's factory multiplier locked; there is no work around for unlocking this cpu. Sorry, man

The kit you got was for OLD CPU's going back to around 2001 before NFORCE 2 Motherboards were able to change Multipliers through the Bios.

They conveniently leave this little fact that they don't work on "SuperLocked" cpu's...so don't feel bad, it's something most people who haven't been around Overclocking for a long time would make.

There is a way around the SuperLock too, but is much more involved, I have never seen anyone around here actually try it.

I wrote this up along time ago, but 2 of the 3 the links still work
