First of all if its not stable when you overclock higher than 1.8, have you tried tweaking the vcore up a miniscule amount? Secondly to find out if its unlocked or not just change your multiplier without adding any heavy overclocks and boot up and go to a program like cpu-z or somethin like that to see if its recognizing your processor as being unlocked or moved to a higher setting. If not than oh well but if it does recognize the change than id say your money and how much would you like to sell it for.......hehe just jkin.

Chances are it is locked. I have an XP 2000 as well and I could get over 2Gigs no problem with the Shuttle board. My current max (on air) is sitting around 2.4G
Have you looked at the stepping code yet?

IF its not detecting the change then your processor is locked. The vcore can be a dangerous mutha if your not payin attention due to the fact that the processor runs off of milli volts, which basically means that one little mess up of one milli volt could mean disaster, but probably not. Make sure you have a descent psu before continuing and do some reading up on some better cooling solutions before you go tinkering with more voltage, which in turn supplies alot more heat.

I can't speak for the unlocking strips as I have never used one but for the stepping code explanation try going to the following link:

http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/cpu/dis...322034857.html

I made a post a while back on this topic but can't seem to find it at the moment. If I do, I will post the link.

Edit: found the link but it does not have the pics like the first link. There is a bit more info though so here you go....
