Default amd64 3200 or 3000

My friend wants a amd64 system and I'm wondering how much of a difference the 1mb l2cache of the 3200 to the 3000 512 L2 cache makes a difference? I told him if he gets a 3000 he can OC it to 3200 speeds.

What speed difference? They're both clocked the same. Also the 1mb on the clawhammers compared to the newcastles is very negligable.

ADD - make sure you get a motherboard with the NF 250. Your options are gigabyte and Chaintech atm, but both are performing very well.

what kind of PSU do you have? http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...129-127&DEPA=1 is that 380 enough to support his system? He's planning to get a 9800pro.

Or this would be more suitable huh http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...129-120&depa=1

Eh.. I'm limited by this Antec Aria case and my form factor limits O/C options to none so 300 watts works in my case.

nah just get the 3000 - its very OC'able to 3200 speed if needed, and will save a few $ thats for sure.

What about the new K8T880s? how do they fair against NF3 250s?

Also a Vante ION-B400w PSU would support that system, 9800Pro if he wants some OCAbility I recomend the Hightech IceQ (the one I have) it comes with a VGA Silencer and BGA Sinks without voiding the warranty.

As for RAM I would go OCZ PC3700EB

WTH is with you people saying "to 3200 speed" - they are both the same speed!!!!

But I'd get the NVidia 250 over the new VIA chipset. 250GB (if available... big IF) when you order because of it's nice extras.
