| About to place an order, and just wondering what would be the best ram to get for this combo. Been looking at some Corsair and Kingston, but just curious as to what most others use when OCing the 2500+M Barty to 3200+ on the NF7-S. | ||

| Negative gorked, Level II PC2700 chip's cant overclock enough to compensate for their lower clockspeed than PC3500 which likely gets put to use or even stressed (my DDR434 is @ DDR500) when overclocking AMD's these days. 2x256MB Mushkin Level I PC3500 | ||

| IF your only going to be running at 400Fsb on that chip go with some Corsair XMS ram id go for pc3200 ddr400 that would suit your need's an id run in dual ch since you have the nf7 id go for 2x512's thats just me though. If i had the money id get that. I just bought 2 Geil 512's of 400speed an im running in dual ch with timeing of 2-3-3-11 an its god man! its cheap ram but good for 90 bucks for a 512 of 3200 from newegg.com | ||

| OCZ blows...nuff said. Mushkin and Corsair have yet to let me down. If you want the best RAM for that 2500-M you have a few choices: Any PC3200/3500 ram modules using BH-5 chips. There are very few places that carry them, and even then, they cost a bundle. As mentioned earlier, the Mushkin L2's are the best, bwith the Corsair XMS 3500's (also unavailable for the most part) close behind. You can probably find them and others on ebay unopened....but like I said...it'll cost you. You can also just buy the regular PC3500's in stores now. They aren't the best, but will get the job done nonetheless. Another option is to get some DDR500 ram that you can underclock, but tighten the timings. the bottom line is, it all depends on how much you're willing to shell out. | ||

| Well from the looks of things, and by my supplier, I'll be going with the Corsair XMS. Just trying to figure out which I need from this list though. A tad confusing, since all this DDR ram tech is rather new to me. My old rig was just PC100. heh. Suggestions? http://www.ntcw.com/Merchant2/mercha...y_Code=CORSAIR Ok sorry for this poor link, but no clues how to make a proper one. | ||

| From best to worst: 1.) 2 x http://www.ntcw.com/Merchant2/mercha...CMX256A-3500C2 ...or 2 x 512 sticks if you have the money. 2.) 2 x http://www.ntcw.com/Merchant2/mercha...CMX256A-3200LL ....or 2 x 512 sticks if you have the money. 3.) http://www.ntcw.com/Merchant2/mercha...WINX512-3200LL 4.) http://www.ntcw.com/Merchant2/mercha...WINX512-3200C2 And just FYI: PC3500=DDR434=217MHz actual FSB synchronious (1:1) PC3200=DDR400=200MHz actual FSB synchronious (1:1) Last edited by lAnonymousl; 26-May-04 at 10:24 PM.. | ||
