Default Highest overclock yet for me.

before i was runnig a simple ~2ghz, as i was too scared, yes its true, to do much. after reading online that my appelbred duron 1.8ghz was basicly a thoroughbred with disabled cache, i got curious. i havent yet enabled the cache, but thats coming soon. attached is a stock and then a max overclock screenshot of CPU-Z.

nic one spectrum! I have a barton 2500 at 1.96GHz. Unfortunatley for me it seems to be locked - my multiplier is at 18 with 178 bus - it should be burning up at 2.4ghz by now.

still with a duron thats very good going. value for money anyday!

dude if your running a 2500+ an your x is at 18 u got something wrong !! ! that would mean its not locked ! for 1 thing an that would make your speed at like 4ghz! so! it must be locked! still with a locked barton 2500+ u can hit 2.2ghz 400FSB with eazy! lift your fsb up t0 200x11 that will give u 2.2ghz @400fsb! u might need to up the vcore a lil just try it at 1.7 an it will be cool!!

And it still chews up a faster clocked Celeron...less work per clock cycle makes Intel a very dull boy...

Nice OC on that Duron..I got 2.1 out of a 1.4 on a budget rig I built for a friend without breaking a sweat at 1.7v..I bet it would have gone 2.3 with 1.8v on a good motherboard with better than a stock HSF

yeh yeh alright ! i thought this was spectrums thread not mine!!! Will lookinto the problem, as far as i can tell a V mod will have to be done to get it upto 2.2 .

To add to my last post, I have used durons several times in new eco friendly systems, but never overcloked them as they seemed to be a fragile OAP of a core...but as spectrum as found they appear to be very OC friendly.

ok, when i raise my vcore from 1.625 to anything higher, my temperatures go up a lot and system stability is pretty shakey. im gonna stick w/ my 334mhz fsb, up from 266, running at 2255 from stock 1800. not bad for a budget processor i must say.
