i havnt realy heard too much about the 2600, ive just heard about the 2500, my guess though, and it is a guess is that all the mobiles are the same chip.

Well that was my guess too! but the 2500+ is 1.83@266Fsb an the 2600+is 2.0Ghz@266Fsb so in end i thought id git a lil more with the 2600+ but i could be wrong !

i'm told that the mobiles are all unlocked. so if they're at the same fsb then there's really not much of a difference right? i could be wrong though. wouldn't be the first time *shrug*

Get the 2500+, its like the p4's you cold get the 2.6 but why not spend less money and get the 2.4 and get the same or better overclocks

thats what i was thinking i dont know if the 2500+ has a deff or beter stepping then the 2600+ an i guess i wont know. but i just thought if the 2600+ was 200mhz higher core speed id git a lil more out of it ?

True, but you can overclock a 2500+ M Barton to 3200+ on default voltage. And that's not even trying, I have my locked desktop 2500+ at 11x230 (2.5GHz).

Get the 2500+ M.

I was head banging the wall on this only 2 months ago. I bought my tresured 2500 for my new rig, and then 2 weeks later the barton 2600 came to my supplier.

to be honest i question if should have waited untill then- its clocked over 2 Ghz(2600) and i have yet to manage that on my 2500.

My advice is go with the crowd. the 2500mobile for a desktop has an excellant track record, and is very stable. You could do us all a favor and try out the 2600mobile and report back though

Go 2500 check it out and if it does not perform well then send it back for a 2600. I do know that the batch of 2400's coming from LA (City of industry) suck right now, I have been through 2 (damn red cores) and the best I have mustered was 2.4Ghz with 2v.
