Default Is this the limit without vmodding? 2500+

I'm running a locked 2500+ on water with asus a7nx-x deluxe, kingston value pc3200 ram. Is the reason I can't post over 215 fsb because of my northbridge voltage? I can run fine at 200x11 with stock voltage on the cpu, but right now I'm running 211x11 at 1.85 volts stable. I'f I lower the voltage below 1.8 then I'm not stable. I don't have any way change the multi because I have a locked chip. I don't think its my ram because I have it at 2.8v and couldn't post any higher by dropping the ram speed by 20%. Heat is not an issue as the highest temps recorded overnight were 45C while foldling@home. I can't set the cpu voltage any higher without vmod, and don't have an option for northbridge voltage except a vmod there too. I have a northbridge waterblock on the way. Please tell me what you think.

Edit: How can I upload some pics?

This al ittle out of my league, but ive O'ced to 1.96 without touching the voltages anywhere. Think my bus is around 187, multiplier ill have to check up on. Its stable, and runnning full software that i need, so have no problems.

Try getting an unlocked CPU first, or try ClockGen for nForce2 boards.

That's not the most powerful overclocker's board, but the problem is still most likely the locked CPU. Try doing some CPU changing, if you can, and that should let you see more of what the board is capable of...

are you sure it's not your ram? after all it's only rated for 200 fsb. maybe you've gone beyond that limit for that particular stick of memory. on that note how many sticks are you using? 1 or 2?

I would say your ram is holding you back a bit. Also having a locked cpu doesnt help, try and use clockgen like Kayin said you will be amazed at what you can get.

Are you sure its my ram? Its only one stick of 512 pc3200 value kingston. Like I said I tried running the memory at 80%. It didn't help. Oh yeah, some updates too, I don't think its my northbridge volts or my ram voltage because I got my hands on the uber 2007 asus bios and flashed allowing me to bump memory voltage up to 2.9 and chipset up to 1.9, but it made absolutely no change. I think thats just how bad this locked cpu is. I know asus doesn't sound like the best o/c board, but I think its good for more. xp-m 2500+ here I come. Do you concur?

My 2500+ is locked up tighter than a princess's panties but I run 11x230 (2.5GHz) on stock voltage. Guess I got lucky. What stepping/week is yours?

Try running the ram at 75% or 3/4 and see, also there is a bunch of bios available, do a bit of research at http://forums.amdmb.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=8 on your specific board.
From what I can tell you have the nForce ll 400 chipset and not the ultra, you may have reached the max without a volt-mod.
Volt-modding takes a steady hand and knowledge of the workings of your mobo.
And extreme cooling IMO is a must.
As far as uploading pics... on the page you post about 1/2 way down there is an "manage attachment" box, click on it and you will be prompted to choose up to 3 images, click on choose and then the image you want, up to 150KB file size, then upload. see attachment
That should give you some info to chew on...good luck

Not to mention the kickass NF7-S v2.0 you're running...
DYK: the top 3 engineers from ABiT are now employeed at DFI?
Hmmm, Wonder if that's why the LanParty runs rings around our boards?

Here are pics, I'll try slowing down the ram like you suggested.

Spend the "hundred" on first, Better RAM, then a serious O/Cing mobo, in that order...IMHO

Wouldn't post with ram even at 50% setting. Its weird, the thing just shuts off and restarts. It doesn't freeze in programs or anything. I guess that this is the highest I can get it with this board and ram. DFI lan party seems nice. Also, what speed ram should I aim for. I want the highest fsb possible as I have no multi to adjust.

EDIT: Clockgen would get me more then bios?

EDIT #2: I have an msi k7n2 delta laying around collecting dust that I'm not using becuase I don't have a heatsink for it (my waterblock and zalaman use bolts). Its nforce II ultra, but I don't know how far it will take the fsb. Any users?

DFI LANPARTY is the nForcell 400ultra mobo to have. FSB's to 300 have been had in extreme cases, 250+ the norm.

I would have to say YES to the RAM being what is holding back the O/C, as well as the mobo.
RAM..as fast as you can afford is my call, and the tighter the timmings the better.

Yes, clock-gen will allow for much faster CPU speeds than you can boot into. It allows for FSB and AGP,PCI O/Cing in windows.

If you use dangerden H20 blocks there is a 3-tab mount that will work, for mobos without the holes.

Clockgen didn't help much. Max stable clock, 211.6x11 for 2.33 ghz. Time to get a new mb and ram. Isn't this fun?
