| give your friend some wasabe and tell him its lime ice cream since he is intent on wasting your time seriously tho, most important, even more important than the heidi fleiss scandal and definately more important than janets nipple, is your (his) power supply, that board loves-a-tha-juice and it will make you suffer if you dont observe that fact... i cant speculate on what a good configuration would be for that setup, since im using a virtually different setup alltogether aside from the motherboard... | ||

If he can learn how to find his way around in the Bios, I would try to achieve something along the lines of a 9-10x multiplier and 430-450FSB In the bios I would start at 9x by 200FSB and slowly increase the FSB 2 MHZ at a time (200, 202, 204, etc.) Test for stability with prime 95 or Folding @Home when you think you have acheived a resonably stable Overclock. You may need to increase the voltage to the CPU probably to 1.75v, no more than 1.8v for most decent HSF's The memory voltage should be around 2.7-2.8v, Northbridge voltage can be set for up to 1.8v and AGP voltage should be around 1.7v. Memory timings should be set on the loose side at first, CAS 3-4-4-8, and then try to tighten them up later when you find your max stable Overclock settings. You probably won't be able to run much tighter than CAS 2.5-4-4-7 at high FSB speeds on that Kingston. There are many adjustments that he will need to become familiar with, such as memory timings, voltages to the CPU and Memory, and many other settings that can greatly affect the outcome. It's like asking us how to tune up a 350 small block chevy you just built with all the latest hot rod parts. Each combonation is different, and if you have no clue how to adjust ignition curves and fuel curves, you are just strokin in the dark... Go to Mod the Box and have your friend check these out, and then get back with us if you need more help Overclock 101 Overclock 102 Overclock 103 EDIT: Oh,and have him get Motherboard Monitor to watch the temperature, you probably won't get too far with the stock heat sink and fan, Most people like to see temps under 50c under a full load.
