Default AMD 780G vs. Nvidia 570-sli

Hi everyone, I'm thinking about an AM2 build (probably start out with a brisbane, then upgrade to a phenom whenever amd gets some better performing ones out).

I've really liked the overclocks on the nforce570 platform, especially the one from epox. On the other hand, Epox has pretty much non-existant support, and if a bios update would be necessary for newer phenoms, they'd probably be MIA. Does anyone have experience running a phenom on a 570?

Haven't really seen any overclock numbers from the 780G, do any of the boards perform well, or would I be taking a performance cut only for the advantage of crossfire? I suppose the support would be pretty good seeing as amd makes the chipset and the cpu, but at twice the price, I don't know if peace of mind is enough for me to get a 780G.

I'd appreciate input on any am2+ boards, thanks in advance.

First I have to ask the obvious question...why AMD? Intels perform better these days and will overclock at lot further. Another problem is that since the enthusiast community has pretty much switched over to Intel, there aren't a lot of opinions out there on AMD boards.

AFAIK, the best performing AMD boards right now are the 790FX series, and they aren't very expensive. You can also use AMD's new overdrive tool, which is pretty cool. Can you stretch to one of these boards? I think the nForce 570 platform is pretty dated now.
