Barton 2500 OC

Well, around july me and my friend were messin roudn with his bios, and thought we fried his cpu, so he orderd another one, and it didnt work so rma'd his mobo, and everything went back to normal, forgot about the other barton.... well just today i remmeberd it, we realized is probably not broke, and yep its workin, im currently runin 2.17 ghz with 430fsb at 1.9v core. i have a ****ty thermal compound job on there right now though so im not gettin the best temps.... anyone else wana give me some info, like highest safe voltage to hit?

1.9v is pretty good. If you dont have decent cooling i wouldnt suggest hitting 2.0vcore. Need to get some better cooling to push it further or at least a low ambient temp.

it hovers around 40c all the time. i got a thermalright sk-7 on there with a 70cfm fan pushin on it.

Is that load or idle? If its load you can push it to 2.0vcore but i would watch those temps like a hawk.

under load ive seen it hit 44...i think im gona invest in a thermalright slk947-u with a 92mm tornado

mine is clocked to 1.96 at present but with no voltage changes anywhere. i think its currenty at 352fsb with a 14 or 15 multi. Havent got precise numbers because i havent looked for a while. I use the already well known to this site aero 7 which im sure some people on here think i worship...

...well it is a unique fan...i use the normal average thermal paste from coolermaster.

Do you have to run that much vCore...try to boot with less and run folding@home, I think you'll be suprized...and as a side benifit less volts means less heat...you have an unlocked desktop barty it looks like, so give that a try...

BTW what skin are you using, looks killer...

LOL, I've just ordered one of those.
The HS looks good, but the fan is going straight in the "doubt if that will come in handy bu it's slightly too good to chuck" pile.

I have mine running at 2.31 at only 1.65 vcore and 420 fsb. You should easily be able to get more than that.

im goan be overlockin more, so ill get back to you, i figured out it was my ram makin it unstable..coudlnt handle the 3-2-2-2 timgins i had set for it

corsair xms 3200, it handles 400fsb just fine at those timings.
