Default Resurrection of a NF7-S rev2 /Sempron 3000+ OC

Have a build done a while back and trying to move the owner up to 2 x 1024 of mem and keep the current OC and maybe “play” a little try and squeak out a little more from old Sempy.

Here is how the system now stands as it has had a few changes:

Enermax EG465P-VEFCA 450W
ABIT NF7-S rev2 - Sempron 3000+ w/ Swiftech 462 & Tt Smart Fan
2 x 1024 F1-3200USU2-2GBHS (g. skill) PC3200
Visiontek X1950 Pro XGE - Turtle Beach “Santa Cruz”
ASUS 52X CD-ROM - TDK Indi DVD+880 DVD+RW
80GB Maxtor DiamondMax9 7200 IDE
160GB Maxtor DiamondMax9 7200 IDE

As the owner wants to play the latest C & C games and do a few other things, thought it would be a good idea to swap the F1-3200PHU2-1GBZX sticks for a 2GB set. In rummaging through my “parts bin” realized I could use DreamCatcher’s F1-3200USU2-2GBHS as it is being “upgraded”. Left everything pretty much as before >> AGP @66MHz, FSB/DRAM Ration @ 6:6, Core @ 1.775V, Balance @ “stock”, and the memory set @ 8-3-3-2.5 (factory).

On my first run of Prime it lasted only a little over an hour. Did some random setting changes and it "bombed" even quicker. So I'm back to 0 and will be a little more "organized" in my attempts using y'all's suggestions. Everything I read about the memory (ex: techPowerUp! Review :: G.SKILL F1-3200USU2-2GBHS PC3200 :: Page 2 / 3 ) it seems to do well.

I think the limits are memory oriented. Of course guess I need to remember this is nforce2 board! Because of this IÂ’m wondering, as suggested for the prior setup, if maybe having tras @11 is necessary as in the earlier sticks?

On a side note thought I’d use genclock but when I load up the PPL Control I don’t get the “sliders” to adjust things, any suggestions?

With Prime @ 12 x 200, FSB/DRAM 6:6, vcore 1.775, vdmm 2.7 & mem timings of:
so farÂ…Â…Â…..
2.5-3-3-8 = 5 min
3-3-3-8 = 9 min
3-4-4-8 = 15 min

up next

2.5-3-3-11
3-3-3-11
3-4-4-11

Can't remeber the settings that gave me the 1 hour run!

turn down your multi to 10x & raise your FSB you should get better overclocking speed with lower cpu volotage...now i dont know about you ram but you could always use the divider to lower it down & put the voltage at 2.8v for the ram

you could always look up for $SOLID$ Necro he's good at this & more so when it comes to Ram

The multi is lock on this Sempron!

After many hours of frustration and advice from several people at several sites the final settings are: 12 x 200, vcore 1.825 (up from 1.775), vdmm 2.7, NB 1.7 (up from 1.6), ratio 6:6, timings 2.5-3-3-8. Changed the vcore and NB v before crashing Saturday night with a tsunami of a headache........ don't know if it was the vcore, nb, or both but the system was still crunching Prime after 12 hours.

Going to declare it finished (took longer than I really had planned, oh well )and get on with other stuff, thanks for the suggestions!
