Smile new amd 4000 2.4ghz shows as 2.0 ghz

hello,im new here and just have a fast question.
i have just got a amd64 san diego 4000+ 2.4 ghz cpu.i put it in set fsb bios back to 200mhz and my cpu shows as 2ghz.so my question-update my mb bios,i did that already.what next??
btw cpu-z shows all the right info but it shows cpu spd as 2.0 ghz.same with everest and the winxp system info as well as hl2 lost coast test.i previosly had amd64 3200 in this board.abit kn8-sli.
any ideas would be gr8.thanx

the problem is you set your fsb back to 200mhz, it was probably at 333mhz or 400mhz which should add the extra 400 mhz your missing...

No as with all of those Athlon 64s the fsb should be at 200mhz. The 4000+ runs at 2.4ghz, which is 12x200. I'm not sure how you could be getting 2.0ghz unless you've got the multiplier knocked down to 10. Before we go on trying to fix this, load up your bios and see what the current multiplier is Ckirsh.

I have a feeling its set to 10, since your previous processor, the 3200+, was running at 2.0ghz (10x200).

multi was still at 10x.i set to 12x and badabing 2.4 ghz
don know how i missed checking multi, it is right UNDER the fsb lol.thnx alot for the help guyz.
now to lurk these forums for info on what i can do with this cpu.thanx again
