Looks like a good plan Cap.

One thing you might want to look into is something Iateronmly and I have discussed before: Dzuz fasteners.

I'm sure with your auto racing background you've seen these before, and also realize that they would make it handy for taking the case covers off for maintenance access. It may be a bit more work, but since this is a high performance machine, the racy look would be fitting. Another approach would be using post type hood pins, perhaps even with a black racing stripe. Against the tangelo metallic, that'd look sweet.
