Hay guys
As you can tell from the specs in my sig, my rig is very outdated and I've been trying to bring myself up to speed without breaking the bank. My current processor is the 2.8gHz P4 northwood. I can't get this chip to post past 3.08gHz, no matter the voltage. I know that I would have better results with a prescott or cedarwood core.
I have two other P4 2.8gHz processors sitting here, but I don't know how to determine which core they are without popping them in my machine. One is an SL725 and the other is an SL79K. One has 1MB cache, would that one be a prescott maybe?
I found a handy chart at
cpu-world.com, but I don't have enough posts to be allowed to post the link! Anyone?
