Looks pretty clean man. How are your temps after redoing the loop? My guess is that you improved a little but nothing to cause an increased overclock? What are you running this rig at?

I think its usually a better idea to keep the res on the bottom of the case just in case of leaks, but those are not too common if you clamped your tubing well, and it looks like you did. If you do have a leak somewhere having you res lower than the rest of the tubing helps, learned that the hard way.
