so what im wondering is do i need any feet or shims for the heatsink so that i dont crush the CPU?

also i know the cpu is dual core.. but it looks like it just has one large core.. do i put thermal grease across the whole thing?

please help.

What ever comes with the HS is what you need. In this case, with a stock cooler, you shouldn't need anything.

The two cores are beneath what you see, that is called a heat spreader. So yes, you would put thermal compound across the whole thing, for best results.
