I'm planning a new rig in December, and wanted the 2900XT along w/ Barcelona. But the 2900XT doesn't outperform 8800's in a lot of current testing (driver issues, I'm sure, will improve the product), and the C2D chips are kickin' butt as well. the reason the 2900XT isn't murdering the 8800s is they weren't designed to.

They are pretty much targeted at the majority of
PC users who just want to play games and can deal with 30 to 60 FPS, not the Hardcore
PC users and gamers. =/ Hopefully AMD is on to something with this.
