Time fo a change. VENTING After a year as the warehouse manager and computer tech (odd combo, I know.) for a company here in Killeen I quit and went to a different company with which I start tomorrow.
I never got to do my job, I always had to do someone elses job because they were too stupid or too lazy. And since my boss was too afraid of hurting someones feelings (other than mine) he would never come down on anyone (other than me) "Well, you aren't sensistive like some people, you can handle it, I can push you harder" WOW did I ever get sick of that ****!
I tried for a long time to find something positive about the job, paid workout basically, learning some different things, getting exercise while being chased with a machete (collections incident). The last straw was my 50 cent raise. 50 cents after a year of busting my ass. "All the company would approve" Meanwhile the president of the company embezzles millions a year to help his son keep up his ****ing stupid NASCAR career.
I walked... right down the road to a small chain major competitor. I've met the manager there several times and he pretty much knew how I worked. Got hired about 90 minutes later. 25 cents less an hour but they pay for health insurance. Another bonus is that I know that in the short time I've been gone the other place has fallen apart. I was the ONLY one there qualified to service ANYTHING. BWAHAHAHAHA.
All of this is merely transitory, I was in a rut, I'm going to get my Linux+ cert to start with and maybe Security +. Rackmount in Austin always has monster postings. Still going to be jack of all trades at the new store but that fact will be recognized and appreciated. Here's to hoping for less of a cluster****. |
