Do you ever just have one problem after another and just wonder why you are the exception to the rule? Last night my folding rig crashed, turns out that was my fault, I thought Corsair XMS 3200
RAM was good for overclocking, turns out it is not with my NF7-S. I got some voltage info and
RAM timings from Corsair, and it is happy at stock. Stock
FSB???
Now that alone does not mean the computer gods are against you. My main rig now crashes about every 12 hours. I wake up, get a cup of coffee, turn on the monitor and... nothing blank screen, fans are turning, and the hard drive makes a clicking noise every second or so. Now this is the 3rd hard drive from Maxtor that has died on me in the last 6 months or so! If I shut the computer down and give the drive a light tap with a screwdriver, it is good for another 12 hours or so.
Now you are just thinking I am unlucky, but it gets better. I bought a Seagate drive to replace the failing Maxtor, and my brand new legit copy of XP will not load! I just get and endless repeat of the first section of the install.
Again, more problems, at work one computer would not boot, got that one fixed. Then the networked printer went crazy, finally got that one fixed!
Then I got a flat on my hooptie truck, took it back to work, got the hole plugged, and they told me I need a new tire soon because the hole was so big that a belt, or wire was broken when it was plugged.
My laptop has been very quiet lately, I think it is planning on trying to kill me in my sleep.
Well, thanks for letting me rant! The last few days have been rough. I hope the computer gods are smiling on you!
