Well, in my opinion, you'd have to do one of two things...
1. Become well-known by gaining celebrity status for being a movie star, athlete, or rock star. People will read your blog on a daily basis.
.....or.....
2. Be an a**hole...not just an a**hole, but an interesting a**hole. For example, that stupid site that the former

I checked out the site and basically it was some anti-this and anti-that kind of guy that really grated on your nerves after a while because he had no point other than he was just anti-establishment. It's great if you have a valid point, but this guy...
Other than family members, I don't see how a person could gain a big following unless you've got some kind of public relations campaign to get your word out there. Granted, there are a few sites out there that have a faithful following, but with the plethora of blogs online today?
Give it a shot...what have you got to lose?
