Well I would avoid the Pro at all cost as a hardmod only works 2/5 times successfully. The issue is with the 16 piplines not ever fully waking up, and they can cause issues with vertical tearing, artifacting, and lock ups/crashes.

The X/800 XT is an amazing card. I love it to death. I got an Asus one with a MUCH better stock heatsink on it and the thing overclocks pretty well if I do say so myself at 555 core, 516-550 ram. That is 60 over stock on core, and 50 over stock on ram. My results have varied on the RAM and the situation I was in.

But if I were you I would wait until I figured out what my next major upgrade is goign to be. I say this because if you get an AGP GPU right now, you are going to be stuck when you go to upgrade to N-force 4 or anythign Intel has as they BOTH are all PCI-E or almost all.

If you are staying with your system for another year, I would go with a X/800 XT AGP. But if you plan to upgrade you mobo/CPU i would go with a 6800 GT PCI-E. That way if you deciede you want SLI, you are almost set for it.

THough, rumors are rampant about ATI cards being able to run SLI without a bridge now. I am going to have to try it as I got 2 X/800 XT's, but one is PE and one is not. (the ASUS one) adn an ASUS SLI mobo on the way. I am blessed!

Well I hope you like the info. This is one of 4 threads in my refresh list at this hour in the morning.
