Introduction:
When buying a case, I also needed to new speakers, so I looked around at
Directron and bought these for just under $20.
First Looks:
These arrived via UPS along with some other things from Directron. The box came packaged in another box with other parts, so it was in good condition. The box was slightly dented on the sides. The subwoofer and satellites were all wrapped, as were the cables. Everything was in place nicely with styrofoam.
Specs/Features:
Load: 4 ohms
Power Source: 110V Flat Pin
Power Output: Sub-Woofer: 10 Watts (RMS), Satellites 3 Watts x 2 (RMS).
Drivers: Sub-Woofer 4", Satellites 3".
Dimensions: 28cm(L) X 26cm(W) X 29cm(H)
Installation:
This required basic installation, nothing special: 3.5mm stereo jack to RCA converter to plug into sub and RCA connectors for the speakers. DO NOT read the manual! Someone whose only interaction with English was watching 20 minutes of BET wrote it. It had horrible grammar, capitalization and punctuation!
Speakers:
The satellites were very small and thin and provided more than adequate sound. The satellite was compact and provided good bass. They looked good also, in silver and black.

Note the expensive custom-made monitor riser.
Conclusion:
First off, I would like to thank myself for supplying the cash for this and my dad for ordering it on his credit card. This 2.1 audio system provides more than adequate sound. I spent a few hours at Best Buy and Circuit City shopping for speakers, and these sound just as good as some of the $50 sets. Definitely not for audiophiles, but good enough for me.
