G Money, Your PM Inbox was full so I am posting my reply here: Sync = FSB and DRAM at same speed.
Async = FSB and DRAM at independent speeds.
Seems you couldnt boot past 2.6GHz because you were running
FSB and DRAM at the same speed, your paticular PC3200 cannot go past DDR432, which is understandable.
Try running at 12x250MHz with a ratio of 5:4. This will set have your clockspeed at 3GHz and your PC3200 operating right on specification; DDR400.

I tried the OC'ing and get lock ups at anything about 2.6GHz. I have Corsair XMS PC3200. The asynchronous mode you are talking about, is that called "1:1: DRAM timings in the Softmenu setup?
