Default Re: nVIDIA 6800XT Memory Timings Question

the 6800XT is a severly nutered 6800GT/Ultra, only having 8 pixel pipelines instead of 12..it performs just slightly above a 6600GT in stock form.

It overclocks well though, up to 475MHZ core and 1280MHZ memory (Stock is 350MHZ and 1000MHZ)

Instead of worrying about ram timings...I would look over at MVKTECH.net and see if INBITOR can "Mod" XT cards into GT's and open up the extra pixel pipelines, I know that the "LE" versions sometimes could, it just depends on a few things.

I used NBITOR on my 6800Ultra's and used the timings for a 6800GT since they are a bit tighter, it reduced the max OC a hair, but did give me better scores in 3DMARK, the best thing NBITOR did for me was allowing it to raise the core voltage, I think I went form 1.3v to 1.4v and gained another 15MHZ core speed while still using a stock NVIDIA cooler!

In the end..if you can get the extra pipelnes open, and a nice OC, it will perform on par with a modern 7600GT or 8600GT.

Hmmm..I took a peak at MVK, and it sounds like RIVATUNER is what you need to unlock pipelines, and your card does not seem to be a good candidate for it, it uses a differnt core then the LE.

Won't hurt to research it more, I just skimmed the thread, and it may answer a few other questions about swapping BIOS's and voltagest, timings, etc...it has 7 pages!
