The report, which saw guests making outrageous claims about a game they admitted they had never played, was later copied by conservative columnist Kevin McCullough who described the game as 'virtual orgasmic rape'. McCullough has since come out and apologised (kind of) and Cooper Lawrence has publicly apologised after gamers starting sabotaging her Amazon rating by way of protest. Jack meanwhile is eager to distance himself from the whole affair, telling Crecente that "The guy who shot his mouth off about it had no idea what the Hell he was talking about." When asked if he was OK with Mass Effect, which featured in our Top 10 Games of 2007, Thompson said "Of course. This contrived controversy is absolutely ridiculous. Report that, why don't you?"
