Nintendo is trying to get places to have demo downloads of games. Currently, there's ... two(?) ... I think, and none of them around us.

Opera is being released for use on the DS, so you can check GameApex on the go. ;-)

I haven't used the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection yet, but supposedly you're able to play games globally, just like on a PC.
