Cool Duality of circumstance...

Every individual in life will arrive at a set of crossroads where a painful choice is required. Each path holds for the traveler both great happiness and tragic sorrow. The traveler has no other option than the obligation than to weigh the circumstances prima face and using the information at hand to make a choice that will forever affect the outcome of their lives.

My fellow brothers and sisters, I have arrived at that crossroads.

Very recently, I had the rare opportunity to become involved with a project at work. Only four people nationwide were selected to partake in this project and I was one of the lucky few selected. Never backing down from a challenge, I stepped up to the plate...only to discover that I was in line at the buffet in the Las Vegas Hilton.

This honor was bestowed upon me this past January; however, the project didn't begin to take shape until late April, shortly after I was hired by Glitterkill as the PCApex Forum Administrator. I was already the Forum Admin over at GameApex; however, as a younger site, the demand for administration was slightly less than at PCApex.

I believed that I could easily perform both tasks in addition to my recent involvement with the new work project. Needless to say, this new project has grown exponentially beyond my wildest expectations. Successful completion of this project would, more than likely, result in some very, very great things happening for me. I continued onward, stopping by both forums occassionally to ensure things were running smoothly.

However, this past week I was involved in a meeting in which another issue arose that is very closely related to the project. This secondary issue has taken on greater importance than the initial project and its resolution is paramount for the successful completion of the project. From a certain viewpoint, I have essentially "doubled" my workload in addition to performing my original duties.

With painful honesty, I have to admit that I can no longer continue not only as a forum administrator for both web sites but also as a staff member. To continue to remain at even a staff member is unfair not only to Glitterkill but also to the other staff members and you, the regular forum members. This does not mean that I am leaving either site entirely! I will attempt to remain a contributing member of both forums, offering words of advice or some witty banter when I am able.

I began my tenure here at PCApex (then it was PimpRig) in April of 2004. Since then, I was hired in November of 2004 as a Daily Disturbance staff writer. Shortly thereafter, I was promoted to the Lead and more recently, as the Forum Administrator. I have spent countless hours on both forums, doing what I could to ensure the success of both sites, amassing a reputation score second only to my predecessor, BigAkita.

I love this community like no other; yet, I am compelled by my nature to never back down from a challenge when it is presented to me. I must dedicate all of my resources to this project (and the related issue) if I am to succeed. I'll never forget the fun that I had while I was a staff member at both of these sites.

I'd like to take this opportunity to express my deepest thanks to Glitterkill for his faith in my abilities to handle the position of forum administrator at these two sites. These two sites is the source of Glitterkill's income and for him to entrust in me the access a forum administrator has is certainly humbling. Glitterkill, thank you for that trust.

Normally, this is the part where a person would say goodbye. I am not leaving either site, just merely stepping down off the stage to join the ranks of the people that make this community the best on the internet. As a matter of fact, I would almost say that this is a promotion of sorts.

Thank you,

Rob
