| There are three big reasons for this...
1. A basic PSP will run you $250 (before taxes). A new PS2 cost you $150 (before taxes). You do the match.
2. All the games for the PSP cost $40, even the crappy ones. Get some $20 value games in there and we might start buying some.
3. Watch movies? Errnt! The movies cost just as much (if not more, sometimes) than the DVD. You can buy a portable DVD player now for less than $100. Also, only the PSP can play those small discs. I'm not going to buy the DVD for $20, then pay $20 to get it on a really small DVD, too. Nope, I'm going to use my portable DVD player.
I'm really failing to see how Sony can't make the connection here. I only gave three reasons as directly related to the PSP and not with comparable portable game units. Those three reasons alone kept me from buying one until I snagged one from a friend of mine for a good price. |
