On MSI P6N boards, which use the same Nvidia 6xx series chipest as your Asus, the FSB VTT setting would need to be pumped up to maintain stability.

Some people who got 3.0GHz with the Q6600 had to set FSB VTT to 20%.

Some people who dealt with Core 2 Duos prior to Core 2 Quads would forget this setting because it wasn't needed for the most part.
