T1 is dedicated 1.5mb up and down consistantly.

Cable has varying rates but the more people online the slower it gets. The speeds they advertise are burst and they dont hafta deliver that advertised speed.

You might want to look into a OC1 or OC3 connection if money is no object. Or some kind of leased line directly to NYSE if thats all hes using it for.
